Well the day finally came. After waiting since September, I finally put my 89 Outrage 18 in the water. I traveled 15 hours from New Brunswick, Canada to Toms River, NJ to pick up the boat in early September. I resisted the temptation to try it before winter hit, stored it in my garage, and worked on it all winter. I have updated my personal page with the latest pics showing results of the restoration.

My only previous experience handling a boat has been the 10' Zodiac that I had purchased two years ago. My brother Rick (no boating experience), two sons (6 amd 8) and I headed out for Peticodiac Lake this morning. I can't tell you the amount of comments and looks that I got from local boat enthusiasts when I arrived at the marina. This certainly made me very proud of my Whaler. My overall experience was excellent and the boat handled beyond expectation as we traveled several miles down river and fished for smallmouth bass. Needless to say that I am hooked on a Whaler for life!!!!

Thanks to this site and everyone who's helped me throughout the last 8 months. I have visited Whaler Central almost every day for since I brought the boat home. To a point where my wife has been wondering if I'm having an online affair.

Thanks again guys!

Mike

Mike , very nice boat. T-top is very nice alot of thaught into that one. I also noticed the classy touch in the rod holder on the back (rod that shoots the cork out) very cool . BG

Thanks again guys! I couldn't have done it without the help and encouragement of members of this wonderful sit. You name it, I found it on this site.

Barryg, so you like the rods on the back heh? My two boys weren't going to let me go out for the first time without them. As you can see, they also found spots for their toy rods. I shouldn't call them toy rods as my 6 year old almost took my head off my shoulders when he nailed me in the head. Those things have quite the firing power.

Yep, we know that "look" that you get. Pfft It's because, everyone wishes that they had gotten a "Whaler" (even if they don't say it). Most folks figure that they can get "more" boat if they buy something other than "Whaler", the opposite is actually true "You get more boat with a Whaler". Nice job on the Hull, look's great !
