When I re-did the console on my Nauset, I had the windshield separate from the base console. Whaler originally held the two pieces together with dowels. I re-used the dowel pins, but because of the condition, I added about 6 or 8 #10 stainless screws about 1-1/2" long. I screwed them up into the base of the windshield from the console. Also, I used those funky finish washers to dristribute the force of the oval head screw.
Problem...now that I'm using the boat, and not afraid to pound over some waves, the screws have come loose. All screws are backing out. They were all plenty tight with a screw driver. What can be recommended to keep them tight?
