Having removed the Helm Cabinet, Companionway door, frames, & threshold from my 1985 Revenge 22 WT for refinishing I have run into a few obstacles in the course of doing the job.
Prior to removing all this wood I had noticed the threshold to the companionway door seemed loose. Once removed, I noticed the one end was borderline rotting, and the screw holes in the end where the door frame screwed into it were very enlarged. I agonized over how to fix this, use wood filler, Buckda suggested drilling them out & plugging them with teak plugs & redrilling them, etc, etc.
This morning I decided to call Nautical Lumber NauticalLumber.com. I talked to the owner, Mike Stennett and found they were open today and told him what I was looking for. I went on over and met Mike at his shop. handed him my old threshold piece. He looked it over found a nice piece of teak left over from another job (he says there is no such thing as scrap teak or mahogony). I asked him when I could come back to pick it up, his answer "Stick around it'll be about 10 Minutes" He cut it to the original dimensions and champhered the edges on the top just as originals were. $25.00
Mike opened up in October 2007 and definitly is looking to fill the "Whaler Niche" replacing wood components for classic whalers, he is very interested in garnering a National Reputation.
While at the shop I looked at three new Nauset Mahogony consoles he built and is in the process of varnishing, they were ordered along with three Mahogony reversible pilot seats by a boat club on Martha's Vinyard.
There is no other way to put it, Mike does very nice work!!!!! Mike also had some sport model mahogany consoles, and a supply of mahogony side rails on the shelf for some of the sport models. Mike has a very nice sellection & supply of Mahogony, Teak, as well as different teak plywoods.
So if you're in need of any Teak/ Mahogony Replacement parts give Mike a call, I think you'll be pleased, he made a helluva First Impression on me.....I plan on booking him as part of the field day portion of our anual Great Lakes Boston Whaler Cruising Club Holiday get together this year, he said he'd like to be a part of it.....

So I stopped back by Nautical Lumber today to say hi to Mike and check out some of his latest work. I took that camera to snap a few shots.

Here are some pics of the Sakonnet / Nauset / Eastport consoles he is finishing. He just filled an order for 2 and this is the third. All for an whaler collector on Martha's Vineyard. He is also building some Sakonnet RPS as well for the guy.
Here is the "stock" he has in the shop. Lots of great quality plywood as well as beautiful Mahogany pylwood. Also, the solid stock he has is incredible. I think he has up tp 8/4 Mahogany Stock. Anyone want one piece teak gunnels for their Outrage?
