13' Steering Systems

Member Posts: 20 Comments: 0 Joined: 10/02/07	Hi Guys, I'm restoring an old Whaler. No interior wood so I'm fabricating it but I also need to add a steering system. Before I start the console, I'd like to know which system would be best in this application. Specifically, what size/length should the control cable be? I'm thinking 9' but I'm not 100% sure. Any help would be great! Thanks!

Member Personal Page Posts: 2012 Comments: 0 Joined: 12/19/05	Is your boat a 15" or 20" transom? If a 15" transom you need a stand off bracket on the stern. It might be better to go with cable and pulley steering/ rich
