I'm seeking information of the whereabouts or existance of campgrounds on the Hudson River that will accomodate boaters. I and a freind (another Whaler owner) are in the initial stages of planning a trip up the Hudson River with our kids this summer reaching for the Great Lakes. We're planning to run up for 3 days play alittle and return. Tents are planned but if the comforts of a campground could be found it would be helpful.
Jim, Contact Mills-Norrie point state park or Norrie point marina. It's a few miles north of Poughkeepsie in Hyde Park. I know the state park has campsites and maybe cabins but I don't know how far they are from the marina. Also, a friend of mine has a book about boating the Hudson to the great lakes,I'll try to get the title for you.
