I am looking at a 1998 with a Merc 125. Would like some feedback from owners of this combination. This will be a fishing boat so I don't need 40+ mph. It has a Merc 15 elect start 4strk kicker, trim tabs, binacle control for both motors and looks good $14K.

Dick,

I am sure it is a good boat but I personally know two guys who formerly owned a 17' Outrage III and then decided they liked the classic Outrage 18 better and sold their 17's to buy an 18. For the same money, I would prefer an Outrage 18, but that's just me.

Thanks Tom. I would rather have an 18 as well but I don't know if my Ranger would handle it.

Dick,

Your Ranger pickup will have no trouble towing an Outrage 18.

Dick,

I think I am one of the people that Tom is referring to about selling my 1997 Outrage 17' II....
http://users.sisqtel.net/jkriz/Outrag...age17.html

It was a nice boat but I preferred the Classics plus the Classic Outrage 18' has more room inside.
The Outrage 18' also weighs less than the Outrage 17' II therefore a little easier to tow with a smaller vehicle... I towed both of mine with a 1/2 ton Chevy truck with a 350 engine in it with no problems and I drive over mountains... I could feel the weight of the Outrage 17' II a little more than I did the Outrage 18'...

I think with this kind of advice I'll pass on the 17 and shop for an 18.
