Why is there no Whaler Dealer in the Chicago area? It would seem like a good location for one,
with Lake Michigan, and lots of inland rivers and lakes. We have to drive to Williams Bay WI or
to Michigan City IN. That just does not make sense to me.
Yes, great boating all around here! I was wondering the same thing. I went to both those dealers including one in Michigan and ended up purchasing fom B&E marine in Mich city.
Corporate decision, just like there is no longer a Whaler dealer in Washington, DC. Sometimes the dealers didn't sell enough, sometimes they didn't or couldn't sell what Whaler wanted them too, example I have heard of dealers having the dealership taken away because they only wanted to sell small (19 and under) size boats, but the company required them to purchase and carry in inventory some 32 foot boats they couldn't sell. Consolidation of dealers into a single larger dealer that covers a wider area, especially in a section of the country where people can and will drive longer distances to the whaler dealer.
