Hey, I realize I haven't been around much the past year or so but what's with this Whaler Mall place.
It looks suspiciously familiar somehow... like possibly it's been created by some recently retired nefarious person in N CA?

Hey Peter,

I resemble that remark..........

The only thing is, I do NOT live in Northern California. I live in Upstate California...
Those people in the Bay Area already have the name Northern California reserved for them. Grin
I live 5 hours North of the bay area and I'm still in California.
It seems like everything from Bakersfield to Redding is considered Northern California.
Bakersfield is the begging of the huge Central Valley which continues all the way up to Redding. All of that area is flat farm ground the entire way.

I live 1 1/2 hours North of Redding and our area is in the Mountains so we consider our area completely different than the Central Valley and that is why we call it Upstate California.... Not being snooty but no one else in California can say they are from Upstate unless they live up here in the Mountains above Redding. We like it that way.

The idea for the Whaler Mall Classifieds was actually Mike's...
Like you said, I'm retired and have a hard time coming up with anymore ideas because my mind is elsewhere. I hate to rub it in, but did I mention I am on vacation for the rest of my life?

Glad to see you back and hope everything is going well with you.

Thanks guys. I'm keeping very well these days, and so are my two boys. We're all very keen to get out on the water for some fishing, skiing & camping. Especially since my brother dropped off our original Whaler yesterday. A 1980 11ft Sport.

How's your family Jeff?

I've always heard the terms Upstate California and Northern California but didn't realize there was an actual difference. Now that I think about it, isn't the term Upstate also used in other states like New York maybe?

Anyway, stay well.

Peter
