Whaler model: Montauk or Nauset?

Member Posts: 5 Comments: 0 Joined: 03/28/08	Hi there, I sent an email out a while ago wondering what model Whaler I have. Hoping the attached pics will help. The hull ID is stenciled in: CA1995. Also I was wondering what the weight of the boat would be depending, of course, on the model. She measured out at 16 ft from tip of the bow to the transom. Also I have a 90 HP Evinrude (70's model). I am in the middle of doing some work to the hull and bottom. Seems there were some bad patch jobs to her keel and I am concerned about the dry weight should be. Any help would be appreciated! However, as Scott points out, the 1970 16 footers would have a stenciled number that follows the form 3Axxxx and 1995 does fit with that year's number sequence. But the fact is these hulls measure 16'-7" length overall, not 16'-0". I suspect you may not have a Whaler at all. Can you describe it in any detail? A photo would tell the tale.

Nauset Jan, The boat is a Nauset and the motor looks to be an maybe 1984 - 1985 Evinrude by the graphics and the tilt and trim not a mid 70's like stated in your email.
