We recently bought this Outrage from a family friend (who inherited it from his father). He didn't know the exact age only that they'd had it as long as he can remember.

The metal tag is completely worn out so no luck there. It's 21' and a few inches. I don't know if that makes it a 21' or a 22'.

There are a lot of little fixes that I'd like to make to it so knowing the year (and any particular hull type) when looking for parts would be a bonus.

I have some more pics if that would help.

Thanks for any info you can provide.

I don't believe anyone would be able to tell you the year from this photo.
However, it is an Outrage 21' (banana hull).
It is not the earlier version with the ribbed sides.
You can view some info here about the Outrage 21' history:

I do not know what you paid for it but it sure is a great boat worth every penny. By the look of the console and the red stripe I am going to say it is a Mid 70's whaler. Maybe 74 - 76.

Thanks for the help. This is my first boat (unless you count kayaks) so I'm sure I'll be posting questions often.

Thanks again.

I would agree with Jeff 74-76 Sometime after the ribs, are there doors on the front deck and what is the transom like? It looks like it's in great shape.

It's in pretty good shape. There's some pitting and "minor" cracks in the finish.
There are no doors.
I'll post a couple of more pics.

Take the hull stencil number circled in the image below and send it to Chuck Bennett at whaler. He can tell you when it was built and where whaler shipped it to.

That is an awesome boat. I am jealous.
Do you have the title?
It will have all the info you need.
You are surely going to need that title in Texas.
If it has been lost I hope your friend is still around.
Good Luck!!

nbgib,

I put the photos in your Personal Page for you on our site.
That should help you get started. Feel free to add more photos and descriptions in your personal page.

As noted above, this boat is an Outrage 21 made in the range from 1973-1977.

The console is original, though the mahogany doors have been replaced with plastic. The leaning post is an aftermarket replacement of the original reversible pilot seat (RPS).
