Hello to all members here. I love this site. I am a new member just wanting to say hello. So ----> HELLO!!!!!!

I recently bought a 22' outrage 199? and I need to name it. I have a dive center in Greece, www.greekdiving.com, and need a catchy yet appropriate name for my newly acquired boat. If anyone wants to have a go please feel free to do so. Any feedback greatly appreciatedGrin

Well...I've always wanted to name a boat....."Last Boat III"

or

"God"....That way when you call on the radio and say "This is God calling" you're sure to get an answer.

One you should stay away from.......
Sirena - Greek - A sea nymph. In mythology, the Sirens lured mariners to their death through seductive singing.

Won't do too much for the dive business!

Here's a list a Greek female names with meanings......

I think your screen name is to complicated and hard to read. I would change your screen name on this site and also name your boat THE GREEKSTER.Grin

It has always been my understanding that when re-naming a boat that you should use only seven letters in the name. This is a good luck tradition.

I am not one for re-naming a boat.... I've heard that its badluck to change her name. But I've also heard you can avoid badluck if you change her name while shes on the hard....

Of course they also said having females on board is badluck... who knows.

Boats are renamed as they change ownership....
One must be repectful of the old name and properly christened with the new, with an expensive bottle of champagne smashed by a female....
OK...she doesn't have to smash it....it could be consumed...in properly fluted glasses!Cool

I dunno, I'm a bit spooked by changing a name, or even adding one, I've seen (as I'm sure that we all have) names like "Lucky Seven" on capsized hull's (of course NOT Boston Whaler's), and it really looks "creepy" to me. A few times I wanted to get a tad "Artistic" on the hull with a name, or a small whale pushing the hull but, sometimes "Less is MORE", and sometimes it's that "One too many" brush strokes that ruines the painting, don't get me wrong, there is some "Beautiful" artwork out there, I just don't think that it would look good on my set up. I love the "Clean" lines on my boat, it look's "sporty", I guess that's why "B/W" named it the "sport 15"

My boat has a Greek name, although translated: Ichthus. I'm a fisherman and a Christian, so it's a fine conversation starter.
