I spoke with a gentleman from Washington state today that was looking for a pair of hawze pipes, he said these are the oval shaped flanges that go thru the gunnel boards on his 22' Outrage,( new to me)the rope passes thru to cleats mounted below the gunnel, he would also like the cleats. I would be happy to pass on any contacts to him, thanks
The hawse (not hawze) pipes in the gunwale boards of the Outrage 22 were made of a proprietary aluminum alloy called Marinium by Wlicox-Crittenden which is no longer in business. The best bet for original Whaler Wilcox-Crittenden hawse pipes is Ebay or a Whaler owner around here.
There are also good polished stainless steel or chrome plated brass hawse pipes available that would cover the existing holes in the gunwale boards, but would not be a perfect match of the Whaler original equipment.
