Has anyone had any expierience with a TAYLOR BIMI-TEE BIMINI TOP, or other manufacturer that is a light weight t-top for a 17'Montauk.
I was going to put a bimini on, but I fish and like the unubstructed setup of the t-top. For about $380 I can get a t-top. I think they look a little wimpy, but then again they are light, cost affective and probobally not going to porpose/or sail my boat.

I have a "Bimini" on my sport 15', I like to fish as well, it has not been on the boat for at least 3 years, it just gets in the way too much, even folded. I will say this, when the sun get's "REALLY COOKIN", it is an Oasis for sure !

I think you guys misunderstood. I am trying to avoid a regular bimini top .
I would love to put custom t-top on, but I dont mant to spend several thousand dollars, add weight and my 17' is a little small for it.The particular one I thouht was a deal is on this web site; bimiteetop.com
Just not sure if the thing is going to blow off the first time I go out.

17' Montauk
I cannot say enough good things about this top. Easy to put together and take down. The boat fits in my garage with the top down. The canvas cover rolls up when trailering and before take down. Do not trailer with the canvas top up, just the frame.
I got the extra starboard electronics plate. A previous owner asked where to mount the radio antenna, this is where. I have 6 lights, PA speaker, and rear view mirror mounted to it. It works great. Recommend you trailer at 70MPH (interstate), keep it in the boat and put up and take down at ramp. 55 MPH no problem with it up. Interstate I keep down. I owned it for 4 years and no problems. You have to lube where it fit in the poles otherwise sticks taking up. It weighs 40 pounds with the stuff I have on it.

When I said Best tee top I was referring to the Bimi, the one you asked about. Sorry about any confusion.

Wrangler has a Taylor Made Console mount type for my 17' Montauk. I got the 4.5 by 6ft size. Measure your console to make sure yours is the right size.
It bolts right to the console.
