Hey everyone, I have a Montauk 17 with a Pate Plastics gas tank. I noticed a leak from the gas cap and found out that the gasket in the cap was crumbling. I was wondering if any one else has had this problem and if so can the gasket just be replaced or does it require a new cap?
I tried to find Pate Plastics on-line but it looks like they may have gone belly-up. Any assistance or ideas would be much appreciated. Thanks.
If it is just the gasket material that is deteriorating, and the cap is still in good condition, you can go to any auto parts house and buy gasket material and make your own gasket. They will have several different materials to choose from
