I just repowered a 1995 13 dauntless with an 08 Evinrude 50 E-Tec. I have just had time to run it about 2hrs, it will jump on plane and fly. It is a big difference from the original 1995 40 Evinrude. I am running a 15pitch aluminum and got these results; WOT with just me in the boat (200lbs) was 5,500. With my wife and kids it would only turn 5,300. I picked up up a 13 pitch today and hopefully can run it soon. I am hopeful this will get it dialed in to the 5,500 to 6,000 rpm range.
Any thoughts would be appreciated.
Thanks
anti cavitation plate is "at or below" the hull I believe. I will verify this next time I am with the boat, motor is mounted in the lowest possible position as the old 40 was. I decided not to move the engine up a notch, due to the 40 had a good hole shot, (we ski and tube my 8 and 9 yr. olds) and cruise. Typical load would be the 4 of us, my thought was to get the boat running in the "range" with the typical load.
