As most of you know, I will be at the Miami Boat show and Boston Whaler party on Friday the 15th of this month.

After that my wife and I are heading to Key Largo for a week.
Anyone in the keys that would like to get together for lunch? or?

I'm always interested in meeting members and seeing their Whalers so let me know if you are interested.
Would also pay for gas if anyone wants to show us around the area.

Looking forward to seeing or hearing from any of the members in that area.

I've added a new "Office Cam" photo panel at the bottom of the main page.

This web camera is only viewable to members.
From the photo, you members can see that I am ready for Florida.
The item I am holding in my hand is a Snow Shovel.
We have over a foot of snow on the ground with 3 new inches of snow today and still snowing.

Joe, I can't believe you have more snow than we do here in the NE. On the bright side, it'll make the warm FL sun that much more enjoyable! And maybe when you get back, it'll all be melted... (got to keep a positive attitude until spring).

We ended up getting about 4 or 5 inches of snow until about 9 PM and then it started raining hard.
That's not good....

Then it started snowing again during the night for another 3 inches.

We have almost 2 feet of snow on the ground now and haven't seen bare ground in almost a month.
This is by far the heaviest winter we have had in over 18 years...
I think Global Warming is over in or area and the Ice Age has returned. Smile

I was talking to Mike last night in Minnesota and they have less snow then we do.
They are considerably colder than we are though.

Yes,

We plan on driving down to Key West one day and maybe some of the other Keys along the way or on a different day.

Would like to stop in and meet you and see your Whaler if you are available.

Hi Scott,

Thanks for the info.
If you can give me the names of good places to eat etc., please do so.
Do those deer come out on the highway at night? I sure don't want to hit any.

Anyone else around the Keys?

I'm looking forward to getting out of the snow.
Here is a photo looking out of my home office window yesterday.

Joe,

My wife and I spend 10 days down there in Islamorda / Tavernier for my cousins wedding. We fell in love with the area and were just talking about the desire to return as it is a balmy 2 degrees here in Detroit right now.

Like I said when we were down there we stayed at the Coconut Palm Inn and loved it. Newly redone rooms and good prices.

This was the recommend boat rental place while down there.

Down in Islamorada there are all kinds of marinas that have charters but I found World Wide Sportsman and Outfitters to have some great prices for both deep sea and backcountry everglades fly fishing. You can not miss the shop as it is the HUGE store on your right while traveling through Islamorada heading towards Key West. Also the guide that runs out of the Hampton Inn in Islamorada for blackcountry fly fishing is really good as well.

I got your message this evening about Miami and will know my exact travel dates and times tomorrow.

Take some time and hit all of the boat Dealerships along the Overseas Hwy.
