I have a 13' whaler with a 50hp evinrude. It is a older motor yet run like new. Dont know the year right off the top of my head. I want to say in the 70's. I know this is not rated for that much Hp, but not realy ready to get a bigger boat. Please let me know what the pros think.
I would watch out for someone with a 15 ft Whaler with a 50hp motor that wants to race you fore some greenbacks. He`ll take you every time. Also watch out for channel markers when running at night full throttle.
Joey the 40 and 50 should be the the same motor and weight. The only down fall would be with the 50 if you would need to be a little more careful about who you let pilot the boat.
