We've been a whaler family since 1970 and looking to make another classic addition to our family. Recently, we saw this boat (please see attached photo) for sale in the next town over. The owner says this is an original 1963 Montauk (?). The helm is quite curious; it has a soft plexiglass windscreen with an aluminum channel. Did BW ever produce a model like this? I did not see anything like this in the archives on this site.
There have been a number of additions to this craft over the years, but it is still a fairly clean boat. It wouldn't take much to bring it back to "stock", just can't seem to place which model it actually might be. Thank you for any help you can provide.
Joe, your photo did not upload. Make sure it is sized correctly (under 91kb or about 640x480 pixels) and also make sure it is named correctly. The site will only upload files with out any spaces, dashes, slashes, brackets etc.
Examples of names that will not upload.

Any way what you are describing does not sound OEM at all. The first year Whaler ever offered a Montauk was in 1973. Also, the center console does not sound original at all nor does it sound like any thing whaler ever offered.
