I'm thinking about purchasing one. Pending a full inspection & sea trial. A friend told me of one for sale that is in mint condition with low hours. He look at it for me and said it is in great condition. I seen a few posts on a different site that say the boat is ruff riding in 3+ waves. Boat has twin 225 mercury 4-strokes (Yam powerheads) I'm between this boat and a Grady 265 express. or Marlin.
Can any owners or people that have actually fished the 295 comment and please give me some good info.
Never owned a Grady, so I am unqualified to compare.
LOVE the solidness of the ride of my Whaler. Have had ZERO troubles with it.
My only complaint is that when I'm standing, the top of the windshield line intersects my line of sight {I'm 5'10"} If I sit on the helm seat it's not an issue however.
My wife and I just purchased a new 305. We looked at and trialed several 275, 285 & 295’s. All ran very smooth and dry. My only compliant mirrors Greg’s – I am 6’ and was a bit “hunched” over in the cabin and the windshield intersected my LOS. The windshield issue is also present in the 305, but it is a little better. The other issue that I had was that most of the boats we were looking at had the OptiMax engines (2000 – 2002), which I was a bit weary of since I had heard, and read, some real horror stories about.
