I'm looking to have an an aluminum fuel tank made for my Montauk which would fit and the RPS. I've found a number of companies who make larger tanks but not smaller, approx 25 gallon tanks with a vented fuel cap. Can anyone make a recommendation?
Thanks

I talked to a local welder that handles aluminum about making a tank to fit under the seat in my 13 and he said no problem. I'm looking at about $200.00 for a long, slim, 7 or so gallon tank. I don't think a larger tank would be that much more but a call to a welder in your area is what I would recommend.

I've never worked with this outfit but keep seeing their ads, www.speedytanks.com, think they are out of NJ. Other than that just go to a metal fabrication shop and they could do it, or tell you who would.
I made a 25gal tank myself out of alum, cost of the alum was under $175, so i'd imagine between $250-$350 you could get a nice one.
Goodluck.

I bought some extremely nice tanks from KSH Marine. These tanks were expensive, but they have a very high level of fit and finish. Nearly all that were around this boat complimented the tanks. I am sure the can make you what ever size you desire. I choose two twelve gallon tanks for ease of removing from the boat to fill. They carry the Mirax brand name. I will equate these tanks to a nice watch. The faded plastic tank will hold your fuel, but these tanks keep looking at them with admiration for the man who crafted them.

When you get the tank made make sure to have it epoxy coated on the outside to prevent corrosion. I believe you will have to have the aluminum etched first. I would also suggest method of keeping moisture from building up underneath it where it sits on the deck. Some sort of strips to allow ventilation or something.
Good luck and keep us posted!

Thanks for the info folks. I'm still not 100% sure I'm going with a metal tank but I'm leaning that way

I have a good tank that I was going to mount under a non-Whaler console but changed my mind. I would sell it right just to get it out of my way. Send me your dim. and I see if it will work. It has a sender unit in it.
