I'm putting a 2005 60 horse Merc four stroke on my 1980 15ft. Sport.

Will the old 1980 Johnson 60 horse bolt holes line up?

Will the controls work? The motor and controls were on a 1968 16 ft Eastport. Is there any other modification work required?

Is this a simple job?

The boat will be used for fishing in the Fl Gulf and flats.
thanks for any advice or suggestions:

Yes they should line up.

Yes the controls will work (in theory) with the motor however, on an Eastport the binnical control is mounted to the top of the console. This will not work for your 15 as it requires a side mount control box. Also you might find the control cable to be to long once you install them on your 15.

Is this a simple job?
How mechanically inclined are you?

The boat will be used for fishing in the Fl Gulf and flats.
