I am thinking about putting a bow rail on my 1967 13 ft. sport. I was looking at the rails at Classic Whaler.com. They most likely are after market. I am a bit concerned about how they attach to the hull. Are they much different from the original bow rail and do the original rails attach differently?
I don't see a lot of 13 ft. BW with bow rails why is that?
If you get the bow rails then most likly they will attach using these SS plates whcih are like 25 bucks a piece from a place in Mass..I can't remember their names, but they have all the SS rail molds, I needed like 4 to do the side rails.....very expensive stuff...the rails are even much more...but they are avail. if you really want them..Ive seen two with full rails and canvas....
Rails can be fun ...given your so close to the water in a 13....but they can also be a pain to get in and out of the water with, and of course i don't do a lot of jumping off the bow of a 13) anymore!
