morse engine control

Member Posts: 83 Comments: 3 Joined: 09/16/07	i have a 115 merc. it is a 1992 and the control is a top mount morse. it has a red knob on the top of the lever handle. the handle slips back while running. i push it forward to the speed i want and when my hand comes off the knob she slips back. is this the engine or the morse control? how do i fix it or check it for a solution? thanks

Somewhere, like the side mounted, there must be a friction screw to adjust the effort needed on the throttle lever. The more tighten the screw the more tihgt the lever I've done a little research btw and i didn't find something for the top mount. It's 100% sure that there must be a lever resistance adjustment.
