With the 40" transom and 12" indention, has it been done with 10" setback plates or a floatation extension? Given the hull design it appears to the novice that the engines could run higher to reduce draft and increase reliability.
My 21 originally had two 70 hp OMC engines, they were mounted side by side within the notched area, directly to the transom without setback, they were 20 inch shafts. There is a cupped shaped indent on the port side that allowed for the steering coupler to move into the hull for turns.
