Member Posts: 2 Comments: 0 Joined: 01/23/07	Guys, repowering with a 2023 Mercury 115hp 4 stroke series (non command thrust). Anyone have suggestions on prop? Engine height when install? And last, if I rehub a viper 14 3/4 x 17 I had from an etec, would it be suitable for the new Merc?

Rigging the engine and prop selection is critical given the power. Mount the engine 3 holes up, top bolt in the 4th hole down from the top. It is worth the expense of a new hub for the Viper. Try it. Should target a WOT speed of 37-38 running light and solo. I would also look at a 14.5 x 15 Enertia (not cheap) 1992 Outrage 17 I 2019 E-TEC 90, Viper 17 2+ 2018 Load Rite Elite 18280096VT

Member Posts: 2 Comments: 0 Joined: 01/23/07	Thank you Phil. I did get a new hub for the viper, will start with that prop an see how it goes. load will be light....2-3 people, probably 450-500 lbs.. gas variable. The engine height I appreciate.
