I just repowered my 1986 outrage with a yamaha 115hp. The old 150 2 stroke yami gave up the ghost and frose up last year after 35 years. I waited 18 months for this motor to arrive and get installed. I'm breaking the motor in this weekend witha 4 blade stainless powertec prop. Will post results after a few trips.New staeering helm and binicle hydraulics and ram and guages and new batteries inside console and moved all that stuff from rear to console like the newer styles have it. Stern is clean -had them glass up the 20 holes in splash well from oil and battery boxes.New fule and vent hoses and some minor glass work and reset bow eye and moved swim step over for fatter motor. They broke my taller windsheild but said they would replace it-I know this will be hard, Its 23 inch tall 30 inch wide and tinted with a forward bed on top. We will see what they do as its a Whaler dealer who did the work
I have the same boat and motor. F115 Yamaha which replaced the 115 2-stroke it came with. I am not unhappy with the power or speed but I would guess you have a reduced top end having switched from a 150 2-stroke.
My F115 is now almost 20 YO and still doing fine. If I re-powered I think I would go to 150 for the times a bunch of people are on the boat.
