Any opinion or experience with these bolt head locks?

Looks to me that they would discourage the less professional thieves but not the bound and determined types.

I would think it would deter thieves in general. If there are two boats in a yard and one has the locks and the other doesn't you can bet any thief would go for the one without the locks. Any level of protection that would make a thief have to take more time to get it off is good.

I agree they may go for the one without locks, but if they want yours a chain saw will get it off the hull and on to a place they can work on the locks. Yes, I worry that when I drive 100 miles to the boat, the boat will be gone, the engine gone or something else. I would prefer if they want it to take it in one piece so I have a chance of getting it back in one piece.

If you are that worried, get a removable sticker that says "this engine is a lemon and [insert fake name]dealer wont repair or replace it!" A buddy of mine did that with a nice Truck and could park it anywhere without problems.

The McGard propeller locks are VERY difficult to defeat. Go ahead and try!

Thanks for the replies. I'm going to give it try.
A year ago, I had a 20 year old 15 hp motor stolen off my boat that was being stored on the floating dock. The bastards cut the padlock I had on the motor clamps, so I'm especially hesitant about exposing my new one to theft.
I can do without the sore muscles I'm currently getting hauling the 90 pound motor off and on the boat and back and forth from the dock. I may also put a bar lock on the clamps as an added measure. I know - if someone wants it bad enough, they will find a way.
