Composite materials?

Member Posts: 2 Comments: 0 Joined: 09/28/21	I recently acquired a 1986 Super Sport 17 and the wood has been replaced by previous owners. The hatch cover on the bow locker is currently a poorly varnished piece of plywood, and I'm thinking of replacing it with composite (apologies to purists). Is Star board the way to go or is there something better? Thanks- Sam

Bob is a cabinetmaker who does well regarded replacement wood parts and interiors for classics. Give him a call. Member Posts: 10 Comments: 0 Joined: 06/15/21	I’d go with maybe glassing Coosa board. I’m not a huge Starboard fan but that’s probably what I’d use. Easy to work with using standard woodworking tools. I get it from Boat Outfitters. They’ll cut to order leaving you with less waste.
