I recently purchased a 2003 Boston Whaler Sport 130. I would like to install a emergency boarding ladder, without disrupting the rub rail. Any suggestions?

A 3 step over gunnel telescoping ladder is what 130 owners use. There is nothing to install and is compact.

Many dealers are out of stock.

You want the 3 step version shown here:

I installed this on my sport 15.
Works well, extremely strong and well made.

1979 Montauk

I use the Rescue Steps.

Lewis Products Inc.

It stows in a bag and when you are not using it, it takes up very little space.

I have a 1978 13 foot sport and fabricated a foot loop out of dock line. Mine is attached permanently towards the rear of the boat about where the driver’s seat is. Tuck it under the seat or console. It is easily reachable should you swim up to the side of the boat. I took some time testing it out and adjusting length, etc. while at the dock until I felt comfortable with it. A piece of mind if you fall out of the boat while you’re alone. Only issue might be what to attach it to. Perhaps to the leg of the console. Not sure what your year boat has. I have some custom rails that are very strong.
