Cooler cleat

Came w/the wood but not installed, I finished the interior and used the holes already there for the cooler cleats.I put them in w/the cleats (hooks?) Facing each other but such odd dimensions,..22"×12". Can't find any cooler to fit. Silly question I guess but, could they be backwards? My 1st whaler also.
