Proper kicker for 18 Outrage

Member Posts: 10 Comments: 1 Joined: 10/18/07	We would app any input re choosing a Yamaha T9.9MLHW as a kicker for our newly aqcuired 18 Outrage w" 115 Yam 2stroke. T9.9MLHW=High thrust 9.9HP,manual tilt/start,20" shaft,1998. Rationale is no mixing nec from Outrage onboard tank and tie steering into existing motor. Heavier wt though ie about 90#. Thanks, ET

All an Outrage really needs is 8 hp. Get a 20 inch shaft and bolt it right on the transom.... The F8 is a good lightweight choice.... ( edited: 4 stroke and lightweight) Edited by Joe Kriz on 11/16/07 - 10:26 AM

I like the F8 because it is much lighter than the T8 but some people do like the electric start. Remember with an electric start, you also need to add another battery unless you already have 2 onboard.
