Typically install from below bow eye to just forward of first keel roller. Color is your choice. White is appropriate. White would be OK if available, but the black looks great and doesn't show scuff marks. Consider them as an investment to protect you boat. Don't try to save a few bucks buying the Hamby's Light and installing it yourself. Ten years from now you will be glad you did.
