Greetings! Recently inherited a 1975 13 that is in fairly rough shape and has been converted to a somewhat ugly fiberglass center console. I enjoy the boat but since it really needs some love I'm thinking about simplifying it back to more traditional layout after I deal with the crazed gelcoat. What I haven't decided is whether to go full restore or just minor issues and put a workboat finish on things. Either way I think I'll do a wood console because I enjoy the woodwork. There's obviously a trade of quality time on the water vs pride of ownership.
The boat is an inherited one as I said earlier and the memories of my time on the water with my father in law will always include time in the whaler. What an amazingly powerful thing a small boat can be.
Anyway this forum is an awesome resource and I'll be searching for many hours. Apologies if this is the wrong section but it seemed like the place for a rambling intro.
You will find lots of information on the traditional wood parts in our Download section if you need dimensions, etc.
Enjoy fixing up your inheritance and memories.
