After many years of lurking around this site, I am finally making my first post. I recently purchased my second Boston Whaler, a 1996 Outrage 17 that is powered by a 2004 Mercury 150hp 2-stroke fuel injected engine. I found the boat in Wyoming and it definitely needs some love. One of the first things I want to do is replace the old dinged up aluminum prop. Does anyone have any experience with this package? I am not looking for a speed prop nor a prop to carry super heavy loads, but a good all around prop. The current Prop os a SOLAS RUBEX 09 15 which I can't seem to find anywhere on the internet... thanks again!

A 150HP 2.5 liter Mercury EFI would have a 1.87 gear ratio. For an Outrage 17 I would guess a 17" prop.

A Mercury aluminum Spitfire/Nemesis 4 blade would be a good choice, or you could move up to any number of Mercury SS props for better performance, like a Mirage Plus or Enertia.

Thank you for the responses! I put the boat in a storage yard and I haven't been able to get the serial number off of the engine. I finally made it out there and Finnegan is correct with the gear ratio. I also called Brian at Valley Propeller in Ventura and he ordered what he said was the right prop. I've ordered several props from him over the years and he is always pretty on point.
