Does anyone know if the pre 1971 13' Whalers ride badly compared to the post 71'? They changed the chines after 71' and I'm looking at a 68' and need to know if it will perform as well on the water as the hull made after 71'. Thanks

I just restored a 1966 w/ a 40hp and was very impressed with the way it handled.

I have a 1966 Model with a Honda 25hp motor. It works great. The older models had a 15" transom which limits you today for new motors.

Hey Chevy1 ! Check out these jackplates for motors 30hp and under for your Whaler...http://www.tsgcustom.com. They may allow for multiple applications according to your outboard/hull needs. Good luck and I am sure you will find what's right for you ! Paul

Here is a fixed link - http://www.tsgcustom.com
If you decide to shop for jackplate for the 13 make sure it can handle the curved transom. ie - not a flat plate that bolts to the hull surface.
