Howdy!
I've just picked up a 1976 13' Boston Whaler with a 1989 Johnson 40hp and am converting it for K9 cadaver search work. Sounds cool but basically I've just added a deck from the side console forward for the dogs to walk around and search from. I'm a previous owner of a late 60's 16' center console BW with a 90hp Nissan when I lived in Boston. It was a great boat and I've missed the BW and that influenced me getting the 13'. I'm in Utah, BTW.
Question- I'm searching for a radar arch to mount to the rear behind the rear bench seat for my search lights, radio antennas and future radar equipment. Has anyone mounted a radar arch on a 13'? Suggestions on a source? Just a basic elevated platform is what I'm picturing.
Thanks for the help!

I would not mount much weight anywhere on a 1976 13 but certainly would avoid mounting a heavy radome well above head level. Lights and radio antenna maybe but not a radome.

I can probably guarantee that nobody here has EVER mounted a radar arch on a 13' Whaler.

Radar...on a 13...in Utah?
A local metal fabricator can make an arch from aluminum pipe that through bolted to the sides of the gunnel.

The Great Salt Lake, located in the northern part of the U.S. state of Utah, is the largest salt water lake in the Western Hemisphere,[1] and the eighth-largest terminal lake in the world.[2] In an average year the lake covers an area of approximately 1,700 square miles.
Thanks for your responses.

Jeff...like Phil said, custom fabrication is the only way. You can try Whaler commercial division but custom would be MUCH cheaper. I know back in the day they had 13's for Fire Dept boats in their brochures etc. but at most they might have had a light bar, not Radar. a 3-4' tall aluminum arch from gunwale to gunwale with a couple pads welded to it should not be more than $500 or so.

Psst. Nick - Brunswick shut down the commercial division a while back.
