I am considering switching out my original90 hp Merc for a new 4 stroke, maybe Suzuki.
Anyone have any thoughts or advice, also thiking another 90 hp vs 115 as my current 90 moves the boat more than fastenough.
Mercury may be easier as it will eliminate new throttles, gauges, and maybe wiring & prop. Suzuki are great engines as well so I would look at total cost, weight, etc. I would also look into the 115. It may be worth it for resale later. Most people I know wish they had the 115.
When comparing prices, look closely at the rigging costs.
Many engines have moved to networking and drive-by-wire . Prices for the harnesses, network backbone,T connectors, multifunction gauges, binnacle are significantly higher than analog gauges, steel steering and throttle/shift cables.
