My family just bought a Yamaha F70 for our little 1984 Boston Whaler Classic Sport 15. I am curious as to what kind of fuel consumption members of this site are getting that own this outboard.
We have only had the outboard for the past four months, and from what I have observed with it, the little Yamaha F70 gets a little less than 2.00 gallons an hour.
I traveled 46 miles with my Sport 15 with F70 and burned 4.8 gallons of fuel. That is nearly 9.6 miles per gallon. I ran the boat between 3000 and 5000 RPMs but mostly ran at about 4500 RPNs which moves my boat about 30 mph. Wide open, I am reaching 43 mph when running alone with a fairly light load
