My 1986 18 outrage sat up for about a year and the steering is now locked up. It has a dual cable system and the cable is free, it seems to be locked up where it attaches to the motor on the front cable. I tried putting grease in the fitting but it will not let me pump any in...any ideas on how to free it up????
I would take the nuts off the ends of the steering arm and see if you can turn the wheel.
If you can't, then I would take a heat gun and warm up the front tube. Maybe tapping on the end of the cable push rod will help loosen it. Might take two people. One to turn the wheel and the other to tap on the cable push rod end.
You might also try soaking the tilt tubes with WD-40 or something equivalent that will loosen up the old grease inside the tilt tubes.
