I have this motor on my 1995 Dauntless DC and I don't know what model the engine is and i don't even know the year of manufacturer. I've looked everywhere for a serial number and any old plates are so worn I can't get anything off of them. I've looked everywhere that Mercury says there should be one and I've looked everywhere that anyone recommends as a possibility.
What can i do? How do i even get the right spark plugs never mind any other parts i might need. It's possible that it's an 2011 model engine simply because i found a sticker that had that date on it.
I would really value some imput if anyone has any. Is there a hidden number i just cant find?
Thanks folks
I was reading that WME is a Mercury carburetor number and that you might possibly identify the motor based on that number. The number is WME 3301-824902. Is there a reference manual that can match that number to a specific motor?
Thankfully there are other boating forums that can toss a guy whose questions are weak a bone. I do believe that between my long winded questions that are poorly stated and my hx of dumb questions I have done myself in. I'm afraid I've exausted my quota of nonsensical inquiries. Happy Easter and happy boating. HaHa I've got Sea Tow. (Thankfully after last season.
