I have a 1968 custom 13 set up to use a tiller controlled outboard. The hull is not waterlogged. Is 15hp enough or should I get a 20hp? I'm looking at new 4 stokes. Teenage boys will mostly be using it to fish and ride around in. Thanks

Check out 25 hp E-Tec. I have a 90 hp on my Montauk 170 and love it. Lighter than a 4 stroke and a lot more torque.

The 25 etec is a great motor, Ive had a 30 etec on the boat before with me driving it. I want to keep it within the 20 hp (tiller) max with young teenagers using it.

Update. I purchased a Suzuki 15hp 4 stroke with electric start and tnt. With a 9 inch pitch stainless prop, 2 people and fishing gear I have been able to hit 23 mph. I believe with a lighter load and calmer conditions it may hit 25 mph. Not bad for a 15 horse.

I bought the motor with electric start and tnt for ease of use with young teenagers, but I have to admit I enjoy the luxury when I pilot it.

I bet.
I do have an electric start 9.9 but it "was" a sailboat engine.
How do they fit a PTnT ram and pump inside a tiny 15hp?
I remember using the Perko Moto-tilt on our old 100hp. It was aluminum and would rest on the cowl and had an arm that you used for leverage to tilt that beast. When it broke.....you went flying.
