Page 2-21 of the Owners manual shows the area on the port side of the bow where backing material is installed for attaching a trolling motor. If you don't have a manual, you can download it from the Boston Whaler Owners Resource page
- that allows the trolling unit to slide under the rail.
- Add a hinge to the rail that swings open.
- cut the rail between stanchions
- remove the bow rail completely.
Most installations of the motor bracket involve through bolting the front portion of the bracket through the lip of the bow and installing two lag screws into the backing material. Use a good marine sealant (Boat Life or Sikaflex) and not and adhesive like 4200/5200.
