The dealer sold me a 30 Etec with a 10.3 by 12 aluminum prop. With a single person, small fuel tank the highest speed obtained is 28.3. The bottom is clean, not perfect but in very good shape. Without getting into tach installation, would like to keep it simple, does anyone have experience with a more effective prop size for this boat motor configuration? I had anticipated just a bit more in speed.

The Evinrude website does provide performance stats for an aluminum boat with the Etec 30 which seems similar, but not exact to my whaler.

As always thank you in advance for any lessons learned.

Another Whaler Central member had good results using a BRP stainless propeller 3x10x13 Part Number 765178. See the following thread:

I have the same information Weatherly found.

Also note the mounting height information in the thread.

I think you will be able to reach 32 mph @ WOT.

Thank you Phil and Weatherly, I read the attached link and am comfortable going forward with the 10x3x13. This forum continues to be an excellent resource. I will report back performance change.

Picked up and installed the 3x10x13 stainless prop. The difference was noticeable; seemed to jump up onto a plane and more than a little faster at WOT. The water was not perfectly flat but when it did smooth out I detected a slight bit of porpoising. No GPS reading. Weather in the northeast this boating season has been less than ideal. Thank you again to those who provided feedback.
