I'm looking to install a trolling motor. In interest of keeping the weight down, I've thought of a nice electric motor. Found a fairly new electric rated at 74# of thrust (24VDC) Any ideas on how well this would work on the Whaler? If it's not enough power, what size gas trolling motors are being used on 17's? Thanks! I'm interested in opinions on which nice little outboard would be good for lake trolling & back up power in case of main engine failure.
