i am thinking of buying a 17 montauk but i found that it has wood in the transom as well as in some parts of the boat..has anyone heard of or had a problem with the transom or the other parts of the boat that contain wood?????Grin

Whalers have always and still do have wood embedded in them. So long as there is no cracking showing in these areas and they feel firm you should be fine.
