I saw it at the Miami boat show this year and it made the Veradoes look normal. I have to think with 5.3 litres of displacement it's gonna be fuel thirsty, but time will tell I guess

Yaowsa! And what does it cost? 15k?
Which Whaler models would this be a good choice for? Could an Outrage handle it?

I think they sticker in the area of $25/26k and sell for around $20K from what i have heard. I would think any classic Whaler that could use 350 hp would also need the surface area/control of two props, so it might not be the best repower option unless your just a diehard yammy guy and want 350hp. Compare that to the merc 300xs which has been dynoed at 320-330 hp, weighs 300 lbs less and sells for $15.5K. Also look for a 300 Etec within the next 8 months or so Personally I think it's a step in the wrong direction, these new motors need to get dimensionally smaller and weigh less, not bigger. I think the larger offshore guys might like them. the reasoning is they will replace triples and get rid of one less motor. However most of the guys I know with those boats will just rig triple 350's, so that reasoning is flawed IMO. I'd like to see one of the hulls we build at work with a pair of them though, think that would be a good application. http://www.fitzcustomboats.com/boats.com/

hey Bob.... nice boats! I must have missed that you took a job there. Are you enjoying it? What do you do there? Looks like some nice fishing/diving boats. Beautiful sheer lines.
