Anyone have experience with installing a Mills mooring cover on a classic Outrage? I bought one for my 1984 Outrage 20 and am having a little trouble trying to figure out how to install it.
Are the slits so you can install it thru the rails rather than over them?
It won't fit in with my engine up either. Am I supposed to cut the sewn in rubber slits to make it fit around the motor?
And lastly, I have to screw some hooks under the outside of the gunwales. Should I put some kind of sealer on the screws?
Well, I got it on. It wouldn't fit over the rails so I put the slits thru the rails.
I used 4200 on the screws.
I still didn't cut the back near the engine though. I put the engine all the way down and was able to get it on.
I will call mills tomorrow, but I am pretty sure the reason they put slits in the back was so you can cut the rubber as much as needed to make it fit around the engine. This will cause rain to run into the splash well, but that will just drain out anyway.
