I have been looking for a 14-15 ft Whaler/Edgewater/Scout for my son to commute to work at the marina. 10 minutes by boat, 45 mintes by car.
I have come across a Mischief locally. Pictures look very clean, 70 hp motor. I will go see it next week.
Anything I should be concerned with or look for? Will this ride in the water and small chop as well as a regular boat? What would you say current market value with motor and trailer is?
I find mine rides very well for such a small boat and it surprises many others too for that reason. They are rare, but rare doesn't always equate to more expensive. A lot depends on condition, but a fair range is $3000-$6000(from "fair" to "excellant". I think the 15 sports bring more money because they appeal to the typical Whaler person and the Mischief appeals to a much smaller segment of that market. The Red ones(most common) faded very badly if not taken care of but look the best IMO. Next on my list would be the white ones(the rarest) and then the tan models. Good luck, it's a fun boat and sounds perfect for your intended use.
