I almost hijacked Doug V's similair thread for this, but I'm looking for a setback bracket for a kicker on a 1984 Outrage 22 ft.
The reason? I've recently acquired a 10 inch setback bracket for the main motor, a 1990 V6 225 Evinrude and I would like to install a Panther type steering connector as discussed in the other thread. So I need to set the kicker back as well.
A comment has been made I might not have to if I can bend the connector enough but a large part of this idea is to create more storage room in the back of the boat and the kicker is actually the main offender of this problem.
I've read where it's best to stay away from the moveable pony type brackets and best to stick with a fixed bracket.
Peter, I have my removable bracket if you would like to try using it. It is just hanging on my wall in my garage. Let me know and I can give it to you if you come into town for th holiday get together.
Jeff,
In my searching today i found an old post yours mentioning that bracket but it seems, from what I can see, that it doesn't really set the kicker back from the transom very much. Does it?
I hardly used the kicker this year and with it in the up position most of time and with it's tiller arm it was in the way a lot. If I didn't travel in such off areas I'd be tempted to just remove it and save the kicker for something else.
