Have been looking for months for a classic and finally got one. Picking up my Whaler this Sunday. Can't wait to get the boat registered and in the water.

Outrage 22. Will share photos when I have them.

You and me both. I'm leaving tomorrow on a serious road trip (just under 2K miles roundtrip) to pick up a 19 Outrage II. Hopefully back with her Saturday night or Sunday morning.

Congrats and good luck with your pick up!

Well, if you begin to doubt the sanity of driving so far for a Whaler, just think of me!

Well, I covered 1927 miles in 30 hours. Very pleased with the result and I hope your delivery went just as well!

We did 800 miles in about 27 hours. Drove the boat today from Virginia to Long Island. Really bad traffic in Delaware, New Jersey and the Bronx. Took 11 hours today to cover the 400 miles.

When we got to the Throgs Neck Bridge which was the final bridge of our trip my dad turned to me and said "The next time this boat crosses a bridge it will be under it".

Nice looking boat. You kind of threw me off with your comment about driving the boat from Virginia to Long Island. I was thinking you "drove the boat" not trailered the boat.

JRP, any pics or details of your trip & boat? Where did you buy the boat?

Wow, that is one sharp looking Outrage 22. Definitely worth the drive for the delivery. Big congrats.

Flounder, my drive was from Virgnia to Florida. For a 19 Outrage II. I have plenty of pics, but do not have a photo sharing account -- sorry. If I set-up a personal page here I will add a link. But maybe I will do that in another thread, sincee this is really mike's about his new boat (I only posted about my trip to make him feel better about the distance he was driving -- which seems perfectly sane by my new standards!)

By the way, I regularly drive back and forth to New England from Virginia. The horrific drive with traffic that mikegcny describes above is par for the course. By comparison, the drive to Florida and back (more than double the distance) was a piece of cake. Not a single toll either.

It was an easy trip for us down to VA. Did it late Saturday night.

Driving up on Sunday started great out of Virginia across the bridge, through Maryland. Then it got progressively worse. The George Washington Bridge and Cross Bronx Expressway were miserable.

Will post some pics today. Boat is mostly a survivor.
